Webinar "Digital recognition tools as facilitators of increased consistency and automatic recognition in Europe" held on 10 December 2020 at 10:00-11:30 CET in virtual modality

How do we best make use of digital recognition tools, if we want to increase consistency in recognition and automatic recognition (AR) in Europe? The workshop presents three national web services, that offer general recognition/comparability statements (or similar) on-line. How can these services support the concept of AR and which are the challenges and possibilities? The Polish, German and Swedish centres present their views from a national standpoint that span a spectrum from information service for the purpose of consistency (supporting de facto AR) to supporting the realisation of de jure AR. Workshop participants are invited to discuss how this type of digital tools can serve as a growing foundation for dialogue, cross-border quality checks of recognition standards and trust also within the network at large. The hypothesis being that digital information provision may pave the way for more transparency, consistent comparisons and better conditions for automatic recognition throughout the region. 

Learning outcomes

Participants will have increased knowledge of the recognition web services published by the Polish, German and Swedish Narics. The concept of standardised recognition outcomes provided by the web services have been discussed as a tool to support automatic recognition.  

Participants may gain new insights and ideas for development of a standardised recognition methodology based on published recognition outcomes.
