Applying for Professional Recognition

In cooperation with international organisations several tools were created to make qualifications from different systems of education in Europe transparent for higher education institutions and employers alike, and therefore to facilitate the recognition of these qualifications

• the Diploma Supplement
• the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)
• the National and European Qualifications Frameworks

The creation and implementation of these tools in the European region are related to the Bologna Process.

In accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC (last amended by Directive 2013/55/EU) all EU countries have assigned national contact points that can give you information on the recognition of your professional qualifications. They can also guide you through the administrative formalities you need to complete.
